Netflix continues its popular original series Stranger Things with a new season dropping just in time for Halloween. Like the first season, Stranger Things 2 involves kids in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana discovering new horrors coming out of the nearby government lab during the 1980s. All of the principle cast returns, including Winona Ryder as troubled mom Joyce Byers and David Harbour as the town’s sheriff. Fan favorite characters such as Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) get some extra screen time to develop in this new iteration. Additionally, some famous faces from 80s entertainment join the show including Paul Reiser as a well-meaning scientist and Sean Astin as lovable geek Bob Newby. The show continues to take inspiration from 80s and early 90s nostalgia, featuring scenes reminiscent of Aliens  and Jurassic Park, as well as numerous references to tabletop roleplaying games. Fans of this Duffer Brothers creation will not be let down by this thrilling return to the “Upside Down.”
