The world watched Prince Harry marry his true love, Meghan Markle, with bated breath this past weekend, but the fashions very nearly threatened to upstage the couple. Millions of people tuned-in, world-wide, and a great many clearly anticipated the hats, fascinators and dresses by donning their own headpieces as they watched.
Virtually all of the hats and fascinators of the wedding guests drew admiration as guaged by sentiment on social media and from television commentators — except the hat of Prince Charles’ wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall.
Camilla’s hat was a large-brimmed, pink-feathered affair by Philip Treacy that perfectly matched her dress by designer Anna Valentine.

Camilla has had significant public image problems since the divorce of Charles and Diana — many of the British public blamed Camilla for Charles and Diana’s marriage problems. The publicity issues were so severe that Charles hired prominent public relations pro, Mark Boland, to rehabilitate her image in the public’s eyes. Despite volunteering for numerous charities and nonprofit organizations, a very large percentage of the UK do not want her to be their queen after Queen Elizabeth passes away.
